About Highfield Prep School

Who wouldn’t want their daughter to skip happily into school, make really good friends and discover all her talents, where she can become the best she possibly can be? This is our aim for every girl here and it is what makes Highfield so wonderful.

We believe, that in the important primary years, girls learn best in girls’ schools. They learn by doing, listening, exploring and experimenting. The girls are given daily opportunities to explore, question, try, investigate, discover, apply and have fun! This all starts in the Nursery, graded Excellent, where the girls learn to develop confidence and independence.

Our girls achieve well beyond national expectations and move on to some of the best schools in the area at 11+, often achieving academic, sports and music scholarships.

We offer wonderful resources in a happy, secure and stimulating environment where all girls learn and develop at their own pace. Highfield Prep School is a local school, 5 minutes’ walk from the train station, and really is Maidenhead’s best kept secret!

We have extended day care from 7.45am to 6.00pm, an all-year round holiday club, serve hot lunches every day and our fees are highly competitive.

Come and see for yourself why Highfield Prep is first for girls.

Admissions Process

Highfield Preparatory School admits girls from the term they are 3 to 11 years. We do offer places to younger brothers in the nursery as this can often really help out with the complexities of family life! Joanna Leach, Head Teacher, always welcomes parents to visit the school to meet the children and staff and to get a real taste of the school and its activities.

A non-refundable fee of £100 is payable on registration. The deposit of £300 will be refunded by the school when the final account has been cleared

Children are accepted into:

  • Nursery Class from the start of the term they are 3 years old. In the year of their 4th birthday pupils are expected to attend for five mornings to prepare for Reception
  • Reception Class (full-time) in the September of the academic year in which they have their fifth birthday.

Older children may enter at any time provided there is space available.

We do have waiting lists in many years so early registration into our nursery is the only guaranteed way of getting a place into our school. The waiting lists are held in a chronological order, therefore early registration also means you’ll be higher up on the list.

To arrange a visit to the school, either telephone or e-mail Linda Nazif, Registrar on 01628 624918 or office@highfieldprep.org
