No formal assessment is necessary for children entering the Rainbow/Ark Nurseries and Reception, although informal observations will be made during the Taster Session. Children joining during the Reception Year and above will be invited to spend some time at the School in their Year Group, during the course of which some assessment work is carried out. A report will be requested from their current school where applicable.

Children will be invited to a "Induction Visit" immediately prior to joining. This will give them an opportunity to meet their teacher and classmates and familiarise themselves with the School’s layout. On the first day of term, where appropriate, a "buddy" will be asked to look after a new pupil.
