Beechwood Park occupies a large mansion, with a fine Regency Library and Great Hall in 37 acres of stunning grounds. Modernisation has added kitchens, changing rooms, Science Laboratories, language rooms, Design Technology workshop, comfortable dormitories with modern facilities and spacious common rooms, gymnasium and sports facilities, including a large sports hall and two squash courts, hard tennis courts and indoor heated swimming pools. Three purpose-built classroom blocks house the Middle Department, Junior Forms and Reception classes. The Music Department has a recital room, 14 practice rooms and a new Music Technology Suite. More recently a Performance Hall and an all-weather pitch have been added. The Nursery Department; Woodlands Nursery, has relocated to brand new, purpose-built premises on the main school site. Nursery pupils benefit from being within easy reach of the Forest School and the other EYFS facilities.
Day pupils can use private buses serving Harpenden, St Albans, Dunstable and the surrounding villages. Many pupils convert to boarding, which is available from Year 5. The number of scholarships gained each year and Common Entrance results affirm a high standard, against a background of every kind of worthwhile out-of-class activity. Music is distinguished.
