About Ludgrove School

Ludgrove is a strong community where respect and kindness towards others and traditional values are paramount.  Our boys relish their independence and enjoy nothing more than an hour or so of free time in which they can make the most of the extensive grounds and facilities: building camps, playing golf, digging in gardens, throwing a pot on the wheel or just kicking a ball with friends.

As a school we are unashamedly ambitious for every boy and are proud of our strong academic record.  We have a non-selective intake at Year 4 and in recent years over 75% of boys have gone onto Eton, Harrow and Radley, in addition to other distinguished public schools.

The boys have a wealth of opportunities: a stimulating curriculum, exceptional facilities including a 350-seat theatre, squash and fives courts, a golf course, well stocked library, 20m indoor swimming pool, astro-turf and sports hall. There is also a vibrant extracurricular programme with exposure to music, drama, sport and art.  We aim to develop the boys' confidence in a caring supportive environment where they are valued as individuals and learn to live as a community.  Friendships are made for life and the unique Ludgrove spirit allows boys to thrive in an atmosphere of happiness, good manners and kindness.

Ludgrove is conveniently placed just 50 minutes from central London.  Bursaries are available.

Admissions Process

Boys tend to be registered from birth.  We are non-selective at Year 4 entry, but later starters are assessed in English and Maths to ensure that they slot in smoothly.

Two open days are held each year for those boys who are currently in Year 2 and are on the list.

In the summer term before they start, boys and mothers visit in small groups for a morning so that boys can meet their 'shadows' and mothers are able to discuss all pastoral matters in detail with the Headmaster's Wife.
