Scholarships & Bursaries
Academic & All-Rounder Scholarships, Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 Scholarships
Kingswood House has a proud record of academic and all-round achievement. We offer academic scholarships for entry into Year 3 as well as academic and all-rounder scholarships into Years 5, 7 and 9.
Academic scholarships entail attendance at an assessment morning where candidates will sit papers in English, mathematics, and, where deemed appropriate, Verbal Reasoning, and have an interview with a senior member of staff. All subjects will be based on the National Curriculum in order to be accessible to boys from both the independent and maintained sectors.
All-Rounder scholarships will be assessed by the submission of a portfolio of evidence in relation to at least one area of excellence from the following disciplines: Sport, Music, Creative Arts, Performing Arts and Citizenship. A short interview and related observation will normally be conducted as a part of the process on an assessment day. Candidates will be expected to satisfy the School’s normal academic entrance criteria.
A reference from the boy’s current school should be provided at the time of submission together with supporting references from outside agencies in respect of All-Rounder applications.
Scholarships carry a financial value as outlined below – which can be supplemented, where there is a genuine need for bursarial assistance, by up to 100% of the termly fees.
Academic or All-Rounder Scholarship 15 – 30%
Academic or All-Rounder Exhibition 5 – 15%

Prospective parents who show an interest in the School are invited to visit, either on an Open Morning or on an alternative day which suits them, when they will be given a tour of the School by a Senior boy and have an opportunity to see the School in action and meet the Headmaster and SENco if necessary. When you visit, please park at the front of the School.
If you would like to register your child for a place at Kingswood House, please contact the Admissions Registrar, Mrs Helen Parker, on 01372 723590 or email email@example.com. You will also need to pay a Registration Fee of £100. You may download the Registration Form below and send it to us via post or email.
Taster Day and Offer of a Place
A mutually agreed day will be arranged for the child to attend the school. During the Taster Day the child will have the opportunity to experience a day at Kingswood House and meet the peer group of the class. During this visit, the SENco will meet with the child on 1:1 basis to talk and do a few informal tests to assess the level of performance. The Headmaster will contact the parents after all feedback has been gathered in order to make a fair decision, based upon a range of evidence. A decision will always be made in the best interests of the child. If a pupil satisfies our entry criteria, a place is available and a satisfactory reference from the pupil’s current school received, then an offer will be made. Written confirmation will be sent – and once accepted – full joining details will follow.
