- Overall academic Performance
When a pupil exhibits the potential to achieve at a very high level in their music, drama, sports, art or academic studies, we do sometimes offer an Exhibition of up to 15% off school fees. While it is not as prestigious as a scholarship it is nevertheless a significant award.
Assistance with fees can be applied for by a means tested Bursary.
We are happy to admit girls to the Senior School at any age and any time during the academic year, provided we have space and they fulfil our entry criteria. Our starting point is the recognition that every child is unique and that your daughter is special. Like you we want her to be happy and successful. We select on academic ability and potential, as well as personal qualities.
We try to make the admissions experience as friendly as we can so that we, and you as parents, can work out whether your daughter would thrive here. We talk to your child and read her most recent school report, we also discuss the application with you. Our academic tests are usually carried out during a 'taster' day which is booked in at a time to suit your convenience.
There is a Year 7 Entrance Examination in early January for September entry that year, which involves Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Maths and Creative Writing tests. These tests assess a pupil's academic ability and potential. Taster Days before or after this examination are encouraged. If you have missed the Entrance Examination you can still apply, but a Taster Day is a requirement during which your daughter will sit equivalent tests.
As a school we will award Academic Scholarships based on the results of our entrance tests, school report and an interview.
Sixth Form entry is based on an interview with the Headmaster, references from your current school, a strong GCSE profile and we normally require no less than a B grade in those subjects that you intend to take, or in equivalent subjects.
