Craigclowan School is unique in Perthshire as a fully co-educational, independent day school catering for children from the age of three to thirteen. Located on the edge of The Fair City, we are fortunate to be able to offer a rural setting with superb, modern facilities. Our aim is simple: to provide an all-round education for our pupils that prepares them for the senior school of their choice and, in doing so, helps them discover the balance between work and play. We expect our pupils to be caring, responsible and independent and to have the time and space to enjoy the opportunities that childhood offers in our beautiful and private grounds.
Mr John Gilmour
Craigclowan Preparatory School has a total of 247 pupils.
Craigclowan is a centre of learning and we attain high academic standards through the hard work of our pupils and the efforts of our dedicated staff who are quick to acknowledge and reward both endeavour and achievement. The forging of friendships, acquisition of traditional values and the development of personal qualities are also at the heart of what we do and everyone in the Craigclowan community believes that education reaches beyond the classroom walls. Our extra curricular programme is extensive: all pupils are encouraged to participate fully and thereby become interesting, involved and busy. Success in all areas is important and we try to measure it not only in absolute terms but also through improvements made, however small, and in finding new skills and talents that can be nurtured. Each child is an individual and our pupils are treated as such as they learn to respect and work with each other in many contexts. More can be found on our website at www.craigclowan-school.co.uk, but the best way to get a feel for the special atmosphere of the school is to pay us a visit and see the children and staff in action.
Scholarships & Bursaries
Bursary awards are available to children at any stage, and are intended to facilitate access for new pupils or to assist existing pupils where there has been a significant change in financial circumstance, such as loss of income, which threatens the pupil’s continued attendance at Craigclowan. Bursary applications for existing pupils may be made at any time during the school year.
In the case of applications for pupils new to the Main School, parents should request a Bursary Application Form from the Bursar (firstname.lastname@example.org). This should be submitted either prior to or at the time of submitting the Application for Admission Form.
To discuss the admissions process, or to arrange for your child to spend a taster day with us, please contact Jennifer Trueland on 01738 626 310 or by email to email@example.com.
